Relax And Just Breathe!

“If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.” — Bansky

Sometimes giving yourself a break is the very thing you need; especially when you are dealing with a lot of changes or challenges in your life. It is always best to take a rest for a few moments  because you don't want to get all burned out  and then  you will be unable to perform anything  at  your work as well as any of your daily activities. So best advice is to make sure to tune in with yourself throughout the day to see how you are feeling. And if you are  overwhelmed or not feeling so well , then do yourself a big favor just take a pause from whatever you are doing or thinking. From my own experiences, I noticed almost everything seems to do work when we unplug ourselves for a moment or just a few minutes. If you work in any creative field or even working in IT over long hours or in any demanding environment, a quick nap can help you restore your energy. Sleep researchers found that a short nap can be effective in recharging your mental energies. Even a nap for 15 to 20 minutes boosts your ability to concentrate or focus and also makes you feel much better. However if you can’t take a nap, then just take a pause, go out or meditate or just breathe wherever you are for a few minutes. Breath is  actually a powerful mindfulness tool. Whenever my mind nowadays is circling with overthinking or worries, I usually try to move my attention to my body instead. Or paying attention to the breath which is naturally calming for me. Breathing exercise can be so powerful and handy sometimes, it can even save you from any kind of panic or anxiety related issues. I have asthma and recent years I also overcome my PTSD through breathing exercise. I have to say since then it has been a big savior for me especially during the pandemic times here in Big Apple. We will talk about this and breathing exercise probably on some other times. But for now, I want you all to take care yourself whenever is possible. Remember in a world we are all living, self- care is a necessity and having good mental health is also very important. So whenever you feel overwhelmed or lost or your mind becomes all scattered, just  take a break, relax and breathe; "use your breath as the means to take hold of your mind again”. Yes everything will work out fine for you and you will notice that. And if not sooner, hey it’s okay but it will eventually.

“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” — Alan Cohen
